Millions of years of uplift and erosion have left a spectacular, monumental imprint across America’s Southwest plateau. Southern Utah contains a set of national parks displaying multiple aspects of these geologic wonders. Explore the Mighty Five parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches) as well as a side excursion to Mesa Verde in Colorado.
Instructor: Chris Hillebrand, a PSU Engineering graduate, has taught multiple courses for OLLI including travelogues on Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, Utah's National Parks, and the Canadian Rockies, and instructional classes on Pinochle and Hiking Tips. Chris is an avid traveler and hiker and has visited all seven continents.
