This course will provide information regarding the importance of maintaining good oral care. Countless studies and peer-reviewed papers have shown the importance between general health and oral health. Learn about the importance of maintaining healthy gums and teeth, replacing teeth with dental implants, and the effects of medication on the oral cavity. There will be plenty of time for an open forum for discussion of other oral-related topics such as sleep apnea, burning mouth syndrome, TMJ, and insurance issues.

Instructor: Dr. Barry Stein is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with more than 40 years of clinical experience. Transitioning from private practice to practicing for the Mount Nittany Physician Group, he is the only oral surgeon with hospital privileges in the greater State College area. Dr. Stein’s experience in the medical-dental connection makes him a valuable asset to the Mount Nittany Medical Center’s staff of providers. A well-trained oral surgeon is essential for a hospital system to function effectively.
