Come join the park naturalist for a walk in the park! As spring starts to take over the valley, we are going to take advantage of this unique time by hiking on the Woapalanne and Butterfly Trails. Observe animal signs and flora that come across your path. Be sure to bring your binoculars to watch for migrating birds on and off the lake! Some binoculars will be available to loan out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Instructor: Michelle White, a 2019 graduate of Penn State, has been the environmental education specialist at Bald Eagle State Park for four years. She enjoys facilitating a variety of program topics at the park, including but not limited to, invasive species, outdoor recreational sports, monarch butterflies, amphibians, Frog Pond exploration, mammals of Pennsylvania, and birding. Michelle is an avid birder and enjoys spending her free time with her daughter and husband.

  • Dress for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes, and feel free to bring a water bottle. Be prepared for an approximately 1.5-mile hike on low-incline terrain, the path is mostly grass but could be muddy in areas.
