The “Patagonia” experience will be shared through images captured in the field by Art and interactive discussion related to the unique geography, climate, and culture that is Patagonia. Learn about the natural and human history and how best to experience this remote and largely undisturbed wilderness. The course will focus on one of the highlights of Art’s portfolio of global adventures. The adventure begins in the port city of Punta Arenas in the far south of Chile, traveling north along the spine of the southern Andes to the iconic Torres del Paine National Park, the Paine Massif, Los Glaciares, and the Cerro Fitzroy Range.

Instructor: Art Heim, a Penn State graduate and retired Penn State administrator and community and economic development consultant, brings a lifetime of worldwide travel and service experience to OLLI programming.
