This course will educate participants on the disease of osteoporosis, how a diagnosis of osteoporosis is made, who is at risk for developing osteoporosis and/or fractures, diet and exercise for prevention, and current treatment recommendations to maintain quality bones and prevent fractures.

Instructor: Lynn Thompson Gregory has been a family nurse practitioner since 2000. Lynn graduated from Penn State with a master’s, nurse practitioner option. She has an extensive nursing background in ICU, home health, and insurance after graduating from Altoona Hospital in 1984. Lynn has taught programs throughout her nursing career, and she is an adjunct faculty at Penn Highlands Community College. Since January 2020, Lynn has developed and run the bone health/osteoporosis clinic at the University Orthopedics Center. Lynn’s passion is to educate the community on bone health disease prevention/diagnosis and treatment.
