The earliest civilizations studied the sky to interpret omens and messages from the gods. Discuss how that interpretation of the sky gradually evolved over millennia from mythology to science (astrology to astronomy), beginning with Babylon and ancient Greece and concluding with the European Renaissance.
Instructor: Kevin Luhman is a professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State.
