Galaxies: Cities of Stars

Galaxies are cities of stars, containing billions to trillions of inhabitants. Explore the galaxy in which we live, the Milky Way, and take a tour of other galaxies with photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope. Along the way, learn about the birth and evolution of galaxies and the supermassive black holes lurking in their centers.
Instructor: Kevin Luhman is a professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State.
Course dates are May 8 and 15.
