Springtime at Rhoneymeade

1 Session | Registration opens 3/3/25 8:00 AM EST

Surrounded by acres of farm, field, hedgerow, and woodland, Rhoneymeade Arboretum and Sculpture Garden straddles a high north-south ridge in the valley between Nittany and Tussey Mountains. Rhoneymeade, or Rhoneā€™s Meadow, is a property named by the Grange Fair Founder Leonard Rhone in the 1860s, now open for public enjoyment. On a guided walking tour, view the intimate garden where a blossoming arboretum nurtures a variety of sculptures and learn the history of the land.

Instructor: James Lesher, a Penn State graduate with a B.S. in landscape architecture, has been devoted to managing and preserving Rhoneymeade for the public for more than 25 years.

  • Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. The tour involves walking on uneven ground and steps and some steep slopes. Participants must be able to stand for the duration of the tour.
