1 Session | Registration opens 3/3/25 8:00 AM EST

This course is hosted by OLLI at Penn State. Participants will be in class via Zoom with members from OLLI at Bradley.

This course will survey the significant shifts in Hollywood practice over the last 25 years, including evolutions in blockbuster filmmaking and intellectual property management, the rise of streaming video, and the impact of the pandemic — with an eye toward what will happen in film and television in the next 25 years.

Instructor: Cory Barker is an assistant teaching professor in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State, where he teaches courses on film and television. He was previously a tenured faculty member at Bradley University. His research focuses on the media industries’ new media experiments in production, distribution, and promotion. He is the author of the award-winning book Social TV: Multi-Screen Content and Ephemeral Culture.
