Preview of Pittsburgh Frick Museum of Art Exhibition - "The Scandinavian Home. Art and Identity 1880-1920."
1 Session | Registration opens 3/3/25 8:00 AM EST
Starting in September of 2025, the Werner collection along with loans from domestic and international museums will be shown at the Frick Pittsburgh. The exhibition is titled “The Scandinavian Home. Art and Identity 1880–1920.” It will travel to other venues, and a catalog will also be available. This course will be a sneak preview of the exhibition and hopefully put the art in perspective to enhance the visitor’s understanding and appreciation.
Instructor: Dr. David Werner and his wife, Sue Werner, have lived in State College since 1978 and have been involved in a great variety of community activities. David is a retired ophthalmologist who for the last 30 years has been involved in art museum work and collecting Scandinavian art. David is on the boards of the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Frick Pittsburgh Museum of Art as well as the collection committees for the Palmer Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
