1 Session | Registration opens 3/3/25 8:00 AM EST

Participants will learn the basic knowledge of DNA, how the current technology is used to solve violent personal crimes, and how to explain the results to the jury and testify in court.

Instructor: Reena Roy received her doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology in the U.S. and worked for law enforcement as a forensic scientist for almost 25 years. She specialized in analyzing and solving violent personal crimes. Many of her cases have been made into documentaries, in which she participated; her testimony has been noted in books and HBO series. She joined the forensic program at Penn State in 2007, taught many courses, published many papers on DNA, and very recently retired as an emeritus professor. Her passions are writing, reading, and traveling.
