The Hanover Area Historical Society completed its permanent History Museum project in the historic Warehime/Myers Mansion and its Carriage House in 2021. The 1913 Greek Revival properties have been preserved in their historic appearance and contemporary furnishings. Ken Weiler, Chair of the Museum Committee, will guide you through both buildings providing the full history of the origin, decor, and architecture of one of Hanover's first families and industrialists.
A visit to the Warehime/Myers Mansion and the History Museum is a 2 sneakers rating. Assess the mansion via a paved path from the parking strip off Doss Alley behind the mansion (Location of mansion/museum: corner of Baltimore and Hanover Streets) up a gentle ramp around to the front of the building entering there. The building fronts Baltimore Street. Fifty feet behind the mansion is the History Museum (the mansion's former carriage house). There are no steps to enter either building. The tour of the mansion is via docents and consists of the first two floors. There is an elevator to access the second floor. The History Museum is all on one floor.
