This is a wonderful tour of the beautiful private garden of a local industrialist and benefactor, established and embellished over the last thirty plus years. This tour should interest hobbyist gardeners and landscapers as well as those who are simply curious about the Appell's property and contributions to York. Please note, this tour is only for those with a strong constitution. It requires walking over uneven ground, up and down hills, and staying on your feet for more than two hours as you explore the fifteen acres of lush gardens with your guide. The tour will begin at 9:00 a.m. The group should meet at the property, directions will be emailed to you after registering. This is a four-sneaker tour which includes hiking both on and off paved areas, some outdoor strenuous walking, and not all areas are accessible. This tour may be up to three hours long, depending on members' questions and degree of fatigue. Good walking shoes are a must for the tour and please plan for weather conditions, this tour may be given with wet grounds and in all temperatures.
