Starring Dorothy McGuire, Joan Blondell and Lloyd Nolan this film is based on the book by Betty Smith. Encouraged by her luckless father, a bright and imaginative young woman (Peggy Ann Garner) comes of age in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in the early 1900s.
