Our instructor visited Megellanic penguins in the area of Ponto Arenas, Chile, at the Otway Sound Penguin Rookery Reserve. There are 3,500 Megellanic penguins that live there, but there used to be 7,000 some years ago. We'll learn about the seventeen (or eighteen) varieties of penguins and find out how they differ and how they are unique. Also learn how to recognize the different types and talk about their lives, and meet one species that lays one and a half eggs each year! How can that be?
