The 1960s opened with the election of a controversial York City mayor, John L. Snyder, and ended with the York race riots. It was a decade of turmoil, pain, and death. Interestingly, some have pointed out that the disruption caused by the decade opened the door to change, change that would not have otherwise happened. This course explains these times and shows how they have shaped community life today.
