This course will cover the general geology of Pennsylvania. It will examine how the various rocks were created, just exactly where we were on the Earth's surface at variuos times and how plate tectonics shaped our state. We will also examine the fossils, important minerals and most outstanding features within the state. 

  • The downloaded book Geology of Pennsylvania will be provided. 

Jeri Jones has been a geologist for forty-five years, studying the area’s geology. He worked for York County Parks for thirty-eight years and owns his own geologic educational and consulting firm. Jeri has authored a number of books and articles.
