Participants will learn the differences between normal age-related cognitive decline and the disease process like Alzheimer's Disease. We will discuss warning signs to watch for, the brain changes caused by dementia, and some strategies to help cope with normal age-related decline. We will also discuss brain health and strategies to keep your brain as sharp as possible.

 

JOEL KROFT studied adult development and aging in college and graduate school and has spent more than twenty years working in the senior living industry. For the last thirteen years, he has been the executive director of Memory Support Services at Country Meadows Retirement Communities, where he oversees the care of 700 individuals living with dementia. His focus is on improving the quality of life for those residents and helping change stereotypes and attitudes toward Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
