The Florida Everglades is one of the most diverse, fragile, and threatened ecosystems in North America. The historically pervasive view of wetlands as disease-filled and evil, nearly eliminated this entire landscape. The ongoing Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan is the largest wetland restoration ever attempted in the United States. CERP is designed to restore, preserve, and protect the Glades. Progress is being made, but the amazing plants and animals still compete with civilization for water and space. Join us for a study of the Glades, past, present, and future.
