Advise and Consent (1962) explores the controversial confirmation of Secretary of State nominee Robert Leffingwell, whose confirmation is endangered due to growing evidence that the nominee had been a member of the Communist Party.  Book by Alan Drury.  Directed by Otto Preminger.  Stars include Walter Pidgeon, Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton, Burgess Meredith, Peter Lawford, Gene Tierney.  Running time 138 minutes.
