We will follow the path our instructor took on a trip, pre-Covid, to China. We start in Beijing, see Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, then visit the Great Wall, (a misnomer, there are many walls), and the Hutong District, then move on to Xian to see the terra-cotta army, then to Chenggong to board our ship to cruise down the Yangtze River. We pass the Three Gorges Dam (visiting a site each day to learn about their history, art and culture), and ending up in Shanghai. You will enjoy the cruise, and you won't even need a Visa. This course is a Travelogue, a lecture about the places visited and experiences encountered by the instructor. It is not an in-depth lecture about the site’s history, architecture, government, etc.
