Have you ever picked up a fossil and tried to identify it or wondered how it formed?  This two session course will teach you what conditions must exist for a fossil to form and what fossils can tell us.  Students will have a chance to examine and identify fossils.  There will be a section on one of the most favorite fossil groups, dinosaurs, and how we have learned so much about them just by finding their tracks.  Do you have a fossil at home that needs to be identified?  Bring it to class and we will assist you with the identification.
