Eight Presidents died in office. In some case the Vice President as successor carried on the policies of the deceased President. In others there was a marked change as a result. We will look at the eight Presidents who died in office and their VP successors to evaluate how the course of history was changed. Given the age of the two likely nominees for the 2024 election this is a timely issue.
