“The Apostle John knew that the words people speak have dynamite in them, and that a word may be all it takes to set somebody's heart on fire or break it in two." (Fred Buechner). Listen carefully to politicians, masters at avoiding questions. Yet some people write sentences which can enchant us, or cause bursts of laughter, or destroy our egos. What gives words such power? How did words develop? What is the time frame for learning language? What are the six fundamental uses of words? What are the three basic limitations of words? Let’s explore together this fun, and interesting factor that makes us unique among animals.
