Still Alice is a 2014 American film based on the 2007 novel by Lisa Genova. It stars Julianne Moore as Alice Howland, a 50-year-old linguistics professor. Alec Baldwin plays her husband, and Kristen Stewart, Kate Bosworth, and Hunter Parrish play her children. After she forgets a word during a lecture and becomes lost during a jog on campus, Alice's doctor diagnoses her with early onset familial Alzheimer's disease. Christine (Chris) Staats has a B.S. in secondary mathematics education from Shippensburg University. She has been teaching high school math in York County for more than forty years with joy in her heart.
