A Virtual Tour of the 9/11 Memorial Museum

Course | Registration opens 1/21/2025 8:00 AM EST

As a nation and individuals, we all know where we were when the events of the September 11, 2001 attacks unfolded. Some people suffered personal losses amidst this national tragedy. The rebuilding of the World Trade Center site in the heart of Lower Manhattan was a tremendous undertaking. Finally on September 11, 2011, the 9/11 Memorial Museum opened. Ann Van Hine has lead over 500 walking tours of the area since 2006. During the tours, she has spoken of the original neighborhood and WTC, the timeline of the attacks, the rebuilding, and the symbolism in the memorial.

Ann Van Hine

Ann Van Hine is a retired small business owner who lost her firefighter husband on September 11, 2001. In 2006 she began volunteering with the 9/11 Tribute Museum leading tours of the National September 11 Memorial in New York City. Her story is included in a Netflix Documentary, Turning Point 9/11. Van Hine believes that the stories of September 11, 2001, are like a mosaic. The stories don’t fit together like a puzzle. Instead, they lay next to each other to form the larger narrative of what happened that day and since. She is the author of Pieces Falling: Navigating 9/11 with Faith, Family & the FDNY.
