York County Wellness (Treatment) Courts save the taxpayers money, keep people out of jail, and rebuild lives and communities. They are also a model for treatment courts throughout the Commonwealth. Learn how carefully-constructed teams use sanctions, incentives, and old-fashioned caring to guide participants through a rigorous program which, upon graduation, results in participants' criminal charges being dismissed or reduced, as well as real change in their lives and our community. Your instructor is a retired York County Judge who currently presides over Mental Health Wellness Court.
Christy Fawcett
Christy H. Fawcett spent more than thirty years as a criminal prosecutor in central Pennsylvania. She was an assistant district attorney in the York County district attorney’s office, ending her career there as the chief deputy prosecutor and prosecuting primarily murder cases. She then served as a senior deputy attorney general in the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office. Finally, she worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the office of the U.S. attorney for the middle district of Pennsylvania, where she headed the organized crime drug enforcement task force. Prior to retiring, she was appointed judge of the Court of Common Pleas in York County.
