Aging as Depicted in Art
Course | Registration opens 12/9/2024 8:00 AM EST
This course will review slides of famous works of art from the fourteenth century through modern times that focus on images of older people. Some depictions are touching and inspiring, some are shocking, and some are humorous. They tell us about persistent archetypes and changing cultural perspectives on what it means to be old. Most importantly, how we relate to specific artworks can provide insight into our thinking about our aging selves.
