Program Description

Akeelah and the Bee (2006. Stars Keke Palmer, Laurence Fishburn, Angela Bassett and Curtis Armstong. An 11 year old girl from a dysfunctional family in south Los Angeles discovers she has an aptitude for spelling. With a little encouragement from her neighborhood and coach, she improbably ends up at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. 112 minutes. This film is closed captioned.
