From Pennsylvania to the World: Mennonite Central Committee in the 1940s

Course | Registration opens 1/21/2025 8:00 AM EST

World War II presented challenges to the largely rural Mennonite populations in Pennsylvania and across the country. Volunteers in Europe unveiled the depravations of war. MCC, based in the tiny Lancaster County community of Akron, created a bridge between the US and Europe for C.A.R.E. packages, clothing and canned meat. World War II forced MCC to grow up. Today MCC celebrates more than a century of work that continues with relief, development and peace-building work in 45 countries. Participants will be invited to consider how small personal choices can impact the world for good.
