Covering the Big Story: Difficult York County Stories and the Personal Toll They Exact on Journalists
Course | Registration opens 1/21/2025 8:00 AM EST
The 21st century and new millennium brought challenges that rocked York County to its core. A machete attack in a rural York County school, followed two years later by the shooting of a junior high school principal. Long-delayed criminal trials that brought a sitting mayor to the defense table and sent twelve assailants to prison and more tragedies including Sandy Hook. This course by James McClure is designed to offer insight into journalists as first responders who run toward danger and the responses by leaders in journalism to address resulting trauma among journalists.
