The Climate Crisis: The Reality and the Hope (Repeat from 2024 with changes)

Course | Registration opens 1/21/2025 8:00 AM EST

While having retired as the Exec. Director of Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium, Josh continues his work as a fellow in the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, a network of people trained to present on the reality of the climate crisis. In this class, Josh shares an overview of the impact of climate change on human civilization and, while addressing the very real jeopardy of the climate crisis, his talk will also include several reasons to be optimistic about the future. Even if you are familiar with the situation, you will likely walk away with something you didn’t know.

Josh Hooper

Josh Hooper is executive director emeritus of the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium (PERC), of which Penn State is a member institution. Prior to joining PERC, Josh worked in marketing, broadcasting, filmmaking, and theater, both behind the scenes and as a screen and stage performer, including at WGAL-TV’s PM Magazine, which he hosted. He has a YouTube channel to which he occasionally adds videos—some of them documenting travels he’s been on.
