York County in the Civil War (Repeat with changes)

Course | Registration opens 8/4/2025 8:00 AM EST

Author Scott Mingus will discuss York County and its role in the American Civil War. Did you know that one out of every seven soldiers in the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia who fought at Gettysburg marched through York County on their way to Gettysburg? The talk will touch on York County's population and industry, its politics, leading citizens and soldiers from the area, election results, and a special focus on the Gettysburg Campaign. Many of the talks are based on Jim McClure's and Scott Mingus's book Civil War Stories from York County, Pennsylvania.
