Dan Kolbe

Dan Kolbe was born and raised in Philipsburg, PA, and has spent much of his life in Pennsylvania. His career led him to Philadelphia for six years and Fort Lauderdale for four, where he met his husband, Douglas. Two years ago, they returned to State College to raise their son, Jadon. Driven by a passion for community service, Dan is dedicated to making Central Pennsylvania a better place for all. His commitment to the Alzheimer’s Association is deeply personal—he had the honor of assisting in the care of his grandmother, who battled Alzheimer’s until her passing. Witnessing the toll of the disease firsthand, not only on his grandmother but on caregivers and loved ones, shaped his understanding of its challenges. Inspired by her strength, Dan has turned his personal experience into a purpose. Through his work with the Alzheimer’s Association, he is committed to advocacy, education, and supporting families navigating similar journeys. Honoring his grandmother’s legacy, he strives to raise awareness, improve resources, and contribute to the search for a cure—helping create a future where no family faces Alzheimer’s alone.
