Millbourne Tour (Appell Property) April 3

This is a wonderful tour of the beautiful private garden of a local industrialist and benefactor, established and embellished over the last thirty plus years. This tour should interest hobbyist gardeners and landscapers as well as those who are simply curious about the Appell's property and contributions to York. Please note, this tour is only for those with a strong constitution. It requires walking over uneven ground, up and down hills, and staying on your feet for over two hours as you explore the 15 acres of lush gardens with your guide. Tour will begin at 9:00 a.m. Group should meet at the property, directions will be emailed to you after registering. This is a five-sneaker tour, recommended for regular walkers/hikers, and will include some strenuous activity and most areas not accessible. This tour may be up to three hours long, depending on members' questions and degree of fatigue. Good walking shoes are a must for the tour and please plan for weather conditions, this tour may be given with wet grounds and in all temperatures.

Robert Fawcett
Rob established his solo family medicine practice in Hanover, Pennsylvania in 1979. He grew it into a ten-person group before migrating to teach in York Hospital’s family medicine residency in 1998. He was responsible for the orthopedic and dermatologic portion of the curriculum and later started a sports medicine fellowship. Since retiring in 2014, he has been active in teaching medical topics for OLLI, Healthy York, and Area Agency on Aging.
