Course | Registration opens 8/4/2025 8:00 AM EDT
There was a day when most towns in York County hosted movie houses. The City of York had several going back to the day of silent films. Most have closed, but York's Strand Theatre, with its neighboring Capitol Theatre, continues to draw scores of people seeking live entertainment or enjoying the big screen. The Strand, part of the Appell Center for the Performing Arts, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this fall. In this course Jim McClure takes a look at this venue that has thrilled and delighted York County residents for a century.
