Hope for Dementia: Untangling the Maze of Dementia Medications and Looking Toward the Future

This course will focus on the search for better treatments, medications, and ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. We will discuss the complicated state of treatments for Alzheimer's disease and review the current available options, including the pros and cons of utilizing them. Finally, we will look to the future for what the next generation of medications may lead to, including reaching the goal of a world without dementia.
Joel Kroft
JOEL KROFT studied adult development and aging in college and graduate school and has spent more than twenty years working in the senior living industry. For the last thirteen years, he has been the executive director of Memory Support Services at Country Meadows Retirement Communities, where he oversees the care of 700 individuals living with dementia. His focus is on improving the quality of life for those residents and helping change stereotypes and attitudes toward Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
