Scratch Game Design - Don’t just PLAY a game - build one!
SEP Week 2 | Available
Students of all coding backgrounds will be challenged to create games and animations using the program Scratch. Daily demonstrations of new and continuing skills will be followed by individual work sessions. Students will be tasked with creating an interactive program, which will be played by their classmates on our final day of class.
Students will need parental permission to use a Scratch account. There is the potential of students accessing an online community component that will not be used during our program. Information on Scratch can be found at https://scratch.mit.edu/parents
- Students entering grade 2 through grade 7
All students should bring a backpack containing a change of clothes, a water bottle, and a snack. For the safety of all students, snacks must be peanut-free.
Students staying for the full day should also bring a lunch and a second snack. Lunch does not need to be peanut-free. If your child has a food allergy, a safe space will be provided for them to eat.
Please note that we are unable to heat or reheat food items for students. This policy is consistent with our procedures during the academic school year.
