Watercolor can be a bit fussy and “unforgiving” at times, but with a little patience and practice, it can become a favorite medium because of its many advantages. Students will learn the basic foundation skills for watercolor. Students will learn how to use correct materials. They will learn how to transfer a drawing onto watercolor paper. Students will learn color mixing and basic color theory. They will learn how to create washes, wet into wet techinques and dry brush. We will experiment with some textures using masking fluid and other tricks of the trade. Working from photos, we will start slow and end up with a finished masterpiece!
