Dive into the immersive world of paper engineering by designing and constructing paper pop ups! Have fun drawing, painting, and making 3D projects using conventional and unconventional materials. Experiment with mixed media and learn to do pop-ups. Explore the still life, landscape, and animals as subject matter.

Nagin, Mary

Mary Nagin is a painter who has lived and worked in the Huntington area for over twenty years. Born in 1953 and a native of East Meadow, she received her Bachelor’s degree in 1975 from SUNY Plattsburgh, and Masters from Adelphi University in 1983. In between, she put her painting skills to work while serving a theatre apprenticeship at the John Drew Theatre at Guild Hall in East Hampton in 1976. From 1983 to 2007, Mary has had solo exhibitions at The Pen and Brush,Inc., NY, The Huntington Arts Council, The East Meadow Public Library, The Malette Gallery in Garden City, NY, and Adelphi University. Group exhibitions include the Pastel Society of America Annual at the National Arts Club,NY, The Pen and Brush Club, NY, the Salmagundi Club, NY, the Chelsea Center in E. Norwich, NY, the Wunsch Arts Center in Glen Cove, NY, and many others. Awards include: Beatrice Vare Award (PSA Annual, 1990), Philip Eisenberg Award (Pen & Brush Annual Pastel Exhibition,1992), Solo Show Award (Pen & Brush,1995), and Merit Award (Pen & Brush, 1998). Since 1983, Mary has been a faculty member of the Art League of Long Island, where she has taught painting and drawing to both adults and children. She has also taught pastel painting for the Continuing Education Department of Manhasset Public Schools, watercolor at St.John’s University (Adjunct Instructor), and served as curator at the Firehouse Gallery at Nassau Community College. Mary Nagin has been listed in Who’s Who in American Art since 1993. In 1997, she illustrated The Everything Home Improvement Book by Tom Philbin. The following year she also illustrated “8 Easy Home Repairs” in Woman’s Day Home Remodeling and in 1999 did ten illustrations for the book, The Irish 100, also by Tom Philbin.
