Through teaching different forms and techniques, I aim for students to eventually find their own voice in clay. By exposing students to a breadth of both historical and contemporary ceramics – and how I’ve found inspiration for my own work – it helps to establish a foundation, as they learn
and grow into their own work.
The purpose of this class is to show how you can combine proportion, form and glaze technique to create wheel thrown functional pottery for the table and home. Participants will learn how to pull tall cylinders, pull and attach handles, as well as discuss aesthetics in pottery.
