In 2005 I picked up my first colored pencil and fell in love. Colored pencil gave me so much control and there was such an extensive pallet to work with. Over time I discovered a variety of techniques and styles that were amenable to their rich, oily composition. I made it my goal to
turn colored pencil into a serious art medium.
In this class we will explore the versatility of a colored pencil and incorporate processes such as working with the grain of the page and wax blooming. Subjects will include portraits, still life and landscape. All experience levels are welcome in this class.

  • 1.A set of 72 Prismacolor Premier colored pencils.
    2. A pencil with an eraser
    3. A white eraser such as Magic Rub.
    4. A small ruler around 12 inches.
    5. I will supply paper for the first few classes.
