This course deepens students’ stone-setting skills by exploring how gemstone shape and cut affect setting choice, fabrication, and finishing. Students will fabricate multiple settings while learning to adapt techniques for round, oval, square, rectangular, and irregular stones.

  • Prerequisites:

    • Basic soldering and fabrication

    • Comfort with sawing, piercing, filing, and polishing

    • Introductory metalsmithing safety knowledge

  • $45 materials fee is due to the instructor at the first class
