"Our artistic voice isn’t found, but rather continually developed as we hone our craft, while simultaneously absorbing influences. We all want our pottery or sculpture to be distinctive, so that others might recognize it as ours. Despite this goal, many of us make objects that feel more like a collection of techniques we saw demonstrated at workshops.
