This workshop will cover the basics of block printing and making repeat patterns for designing fabric. Students will design a pattern, carve it out on their block, and finally print their own patterns on tea towels. We will be using lino cutting tools and soft cut print blocks. This course will also cover comparison of different fabrics suitable for block printing by hand. Students will print their own patterned tea towels with special fabric inks that are permanent and washable after drying. A material fee of $10 will be added to the tuition. Students Ages 14 and over.

Karin Mansberg is a printmaker and a teaching-artist. She teaches multidisciplinary classes and printmaking to all age groups. Since 2014 her focus has been on block-printing and sharing her experience with others. Karin's style has developed over the decades through her personal art practice and academic training (including studies in art history and criticism). She has worked for private clients, collaborated with small businesses, solo entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations on various projects such as banners, logo design, art stamps, book illustration, art direction, wall murals, and art projects for a nature school.
