This will be a four-day course in which students make at least one vase from two contrasting woods glued
together and shaped.
Students will fine-tune the shape of the wood pieces and glue them together with a fast-setting super glue to form the turning blank then mount the blank on the lathe and shape the outside of the vase. Various tools will be used to hollow the inside. Once students have finished hollowing and sanding the vase, they will apply a Danish oil finish to complete the project.
Students should have some woodturning experience.
The pieces shown are made of cherry and a tropical hardwood and are similar to the piece to be done in this class.
