In this intermediate rigid heddle weaving class, students will learn how to use pickup sticks as well as a string heddle rod. We will go over the basics of pickup sticks, make a heddle rod for each student, and then explore many pattern variations of using the pickup sticks and heddle rod to create both warp and weft pattern floats.
Students should arrive to class with their looms already warped. Specifications for the warp will be sent out to each student prior to the class.
**Familiarity with warping a rigid heddle loom and weaving basic plain weave cloth is required****Students will need to bring their own rigid heddle loom, 1-2 stick shuttles, and a pickup stick or Rigid heddle looms will be available to rent if needed** Students can use 7.5, 10, or 12.5 dent heddles. Additional pickup sticks will be available to use if needed.
