Extend your blacksmithing abilities beyond Blacksmithing Basics. Our well trained professional artists will cover techniques that will include scroll making, collaring, basic tool-making, and heat treating. This course will provide the student with the necessary skills to take their blacksmithing interests to the next level and enable them to take more advanced specialized courses in the future. PREREQUISITE: BLACKSMITH BASICS

  • *There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.

    *Members will have the $4 fee deducted from tuition.
    *Class size is limited to 4 students.

     *SAFETY FIRST*

    Safety Guidelines will be discussed and reviewed 

    Required: Closed toe shoes, Fitted sleeves, Long hair tied back

Chris Doherty has been wielding a hammer since the late twentieth century and has been working and teaching at Brookfield Craft Center for many years. His work has been sold at local galleries and craft shows as well as online. He was the assistant instructor for blacksmithing at Peter’s Valley Craft Center in the summer of 2014 and is a member of the Northeast Blacksmiths Association. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the craft.
