This workshop will utilize some basic woodworking techniques and recycled materials to create functional and attractive nest boxes for our fine-feathered friends. We will consider design features suggested by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to build birdhouses. After mastering birdhouses, students will turn their attention to other useful items like garden baskets, wood trays and boxes. Along the way, students will master the hand saw, bit and brace, and other woodworking hand tools.
