This is a two-day workshop in which students make at least one vase from two contrasting woods glued together and shaped.

On day one, use our new table saw to cut a set of small wedges from a beautiful hardwood. You’ll then glue the wedges together with a contrasting solid wood to create a turning blank. Next day, once the glue dries, you’ll turn a distinctive small bowl and apply a food-safe finish.

The pieces shown are made of cherry and a tropical hardwood and are similar to the piece to be done in this class.
